HOW DID SHE MEET ARKHIZE?
All it took was a rogue archeologist uncovering a book in an abandoned dig site, left by a company that disbanded years ago. The book was 80% blank, and was found inside an underground chest in the forest of North Dakota. The book appeared unfinished, littered with all kinds of weird languages and symbols, with pieces of English scattered around... Even though it was 2133, it was baffling how things were STILL being discovered underground...The book was sent in by the archeologist to be researched and translated, through all the different languages in a database. To which none could translate the symbols and images. The English that was scattered around the mass amounts of symbols, talked about "vats", "potential", "spells", "revenge", and the word "Ravenhaul" was everywhere... They knew what the other words meant, but after putting "Ravenhaul" into the system, tons of things showed up. A video game, a youtube channel, etc etc etc. But there were names of people throughout history who showed up as well... with only one of those people still being alive... and it only took a week for it to all come crashing down on the 32-year-old bobcat woman.Secret service came knocking on her door... Dianni was then flown out to Minnesota against her will. Once there, she was taken to a laboratory building at a sprawling city. She was escorted by 3 police officers. Even though her case had no leads for nearly 10 years, that never meant it wasn't on her record and that she was "off the hook"...Inside the blinding white lab, contrasting the night sky, scientists and more police officers surrounded the book. She was asked if she knew anything about it. She told them that she did not. And she was telling the truth, because her parents never told her there was a second book! She's ever only known of the one in The Plateau. This one must've been a copy made by THAT other part of the family... Still though, they opened the book in front of her, and asked if she knew about what was being said in it... again, she told them no, lying this time. They pointed to a section of the book with the name of a simple spell, where it also explained how to cast it in full English. She was asked if she was able to try it. She immediately said sure, and did everything the book said... and nothing happened. Everyone looked at each other disappointed and confused... Thanks to Encapsulation and Disintegration, she couldn't even perform the spell if she wanted to anyway, but they didn't know. Behind her neutral expression, she was smirking. But they didn't give up...They pointed to another spell, and another and another and another... Until they were almost all out. Most of the people in the room grew tired and frustrated, while Dianni sat in a chair continuing to ask when she could leave. They were close to letting her go... Until they got to one that talked about being able to turn a mirror into a portal to "The Plateau"... Dianni's heart sunk. They asked her to perform the spell. Just one more spell and she could go. But she knew it was one of the VERY FEW spells she was still capable of casting even with Encapsulation and Disintegration... She got nervous at the chances that fate would cause this to happen RIGHT NOW, as she was so close to being off the hook. She stood up from her chair while everyone waited... The other few times she casted a spell, it felt like nobody was looking, but now the silence in the air hung heavier than usual. She tried to think of a way out of the situation, but some people − wanting to go home already − told her to just do it, expecting nothing to happen. She frantically looked around the room one last time to see if there were any mirrors at all. She saw none... So she did the spell. There was silence... the room grew quiet, and the longer the quiet went on, the more relaxed Dianni became... Until there was a muffled sound of a river flowing...Everyone investigated it, trying to find where it was coming from. Dianni stood frozen in the middle of the laboratory, silently panicing next to the book and the 3 police officers she came with. It wasn't anyone's phone. Not from outside. Not from a TV inside the laboratory. They followed the sound into the multi-sex bathroom... opened the door and... There it was. The mirror above the sink showed a beautiful cabin in the woods next to a river like a TV screen. Everyone was shocked. They reached their hands through, and then their heads, then their bodies. And eventually everyone that was once in the laboratory, now walked around on the breathtaking grass, completely awestruck. While Dianni continued to be followed by the officers, the scientists explored the cabin, looking at the picture frames of a bobcat family. A man, woman, and young girl who looked like Dianni. One of the scientists exploring the ruins walked up to the pedestal, and picked up a book. She opened it to see it was completely full of the same symbols and gibberish that the other book had, but this time not a single piece of English. It was also completely full. No blank pages at all.Holding the book, she turned back to Dianni and held it in front of her with both hands... Now that they ALL KNEW she had a part within this magic stuff, they told her to "Please decipher it"... With her head held low, she said that she couldn't. The woman asked again, just to at least TRY to, and she said no. The scientist nodded to the police officer to Dianni's left... He walked around from her back to stand by her side to talk to her. The officer said that he doesn't know if she can decipher it or not, and frankly doesn't care. But the truth is that whether she does or not, this discovery about her and her heritage still means tons of things for her case. So either way, she is going to be re-investigated when this is over.Side-eying him, Dianni whispered "Fine... I'll unlock it..." under her breath... She slowly and shakingly raised her right arm straight up as far as she could in the air... Everyone stared wondering what magical thing she was doing... and then...
SHE SLICED THE BOOK AND SCIENTIST IN HALF.
Instantly covering her arm in the flames, she slammed it straight down the middle of the scientist holding the book in front of her. Before the police could open fire or tase her, she covered the rest of her body in the flame as well, except the soles of her paws, so that she could run straight to the portal. Anyone in her way, any bullet fired at her, anything that could stop her... disintegrated. When she left out of the mirror, she yelled the spell to try and close it back... and it didn't work. It wouldn't close... She was confused. Would it not close because there are people still inside? Is it automated? Is that why her parents always left it open when stepping inside it?She ran through walls, nearly phasing through them. Once she made it outside and on the streets of the city, she heard alarms and sirens blaring. Automated drones and hovercrafts flew above her with spotlights and scanners, dodging between skyscrapers. Automated machines, humans, and anthropomorphic animals, all scattered around the laboratory holding weapons. She made a break for it to a dark alleyway, thinking of where to go breathing heavily...She had an idea. She used her flame again to cover her entire body, but this time also including her feet. This made it so that she would carve deep into the ground. The gravity of the Earth pulled her, and her flame made it so that the Earth couldn't STOP her. When she decided she was deep enough, she stopped the erasure. Then chose a random direction to go, and she walked...Underground, there was no light except for her's. It was all dirt and rocks, but thanks to the flame, it felt like they weren't even there. It was like walking regularly, with no push-back. But after around an hour of walking and digging, she realized her body was changing...Her fur had gotten redder, and her paw pads had became the same warm-purple as her flame. Over-exposure to the flames must have consequences unlisted in the book... She decided it was possibly time to resurface... and when she did, she found herself at the edge of a forest. She looked around to see where her city was... nowhere to be seen. Knowing they were hunting for her, she went into the forest.Inside this forest, she'd walk and walk, conserving energy, without direction... She didn't know where to go, but the night fog of the forest surely would reveal a location at some point... But she'd eventually stop when she saw a glowing blue light behind a tree. Her immediate thought was to run, as it could be a flashlight from a search party looking for her... But it was just one weak little glow, so it should be fine... Walking around it, she'd see a strange looking artifact laying against this tree, with the label "R.K. #4" on it.She knew where she was. She's heard of this before... But before she could think any further, she felt a paw on her shoulder. Instinctively out of adrenaline, she immediately went for the heart of whoever it was... literally.Covering her hand in the flame, without looking at the face of the person, she plunged her hand into their body... and she felt it grab something inside. When she pulled it out, a grey sphere with cyan lines around it glowed and hummed in her hand... She looked up and saw a gray-furred bear with cyan eyes, wearing a black leather coat, holding a brown jacket in it's hand.It was an Ark... the species she'd seen in the news and in history texts sometimes... and she just ripped out the core of one.The Ark stood in shock for a while... until it fell over and dissipated into a cyan mist. Dianni knew what an Ark was and how one operated, but she's never actually met one before. It was holding a wooly brown jacket, most likely for her to wear, as the flames from her earlier escape erased all her clothing. It thought she was cold... it was trying to help... She took the jacket from the ground and while holding the core in her still flaming hand, it began to glow and attempt to respawn the Ark.
